I am a brand identity designer based in Dallas, TX. I build visual systems for organizations that need to feel like themselves to the people who matter most.
I focus on the parts of brand design that speaks to 'why' the organization exist in the first place, and create guidelines around that even non-designers can follow, the signage that survives a year of weather, the logo that looks right in a 32-pixel favicon and on a 30-foot wall. My strongest work tends to live where brand meets environment, print, and people who are not designers.
I start every project by interviewing the people who will use the brand most, not just the people who commissioned it. That changes the brief more often than not. I tend to make a roadmap for my best directions am asked for, kill more of my own ideas than the client kills, and over-document the system so that whoever inherits it can keep building on it without me.
I run a side venture helping a meditation teacher in Austin reach 500 students a month. I built him a megaphone by digging deep into his character. That's where my whole approach to branding came from.
